Medical Waste and Pharmaceutical Options
The Household Hazardous Waste Facility does not take prescription medications, needles, or sharps.

Needles, syringes, and other sharps must be properly stored in an approved sharps container. Due to safety protocols, the Household Hazardous Waste Facility cannot accept sharps or sharps containers. For Midwest City residents, please contact the Public Works Administration at (405) 739-1066 for more information about the Sharps Disposal Program.
For residents of other communities, we recommend contacting your City Hall, pharmacies, or doctor offices for disposal options.
Prescription Medication Drop Boxes
The easiest option to dispose of prescription medications is to locate a nearby drop box. Local participating pharmacies such as some Walgreens, CVS, and Wal-Mart pharmacies offer drop boxes, as well as certain Sheriff's Offices or Police Stations.
