Neighborhood Initiative was created in 1994 as a tool for enhancing the communication within neighborhoods and the City of Midwest City.  Through this program, residents are provided a forum for discussing neighborhood problems and devising workable solutions.  By creating a link to local government, the program offers Midwest City residents an opportunity to become part of the process to positively affect their neighborhood and community.

Public Safety Cadets Badge Police Youth Cadets

Sponsored by the Midwest City Police Department, the purpose of the Youth Cadet Program is to acquaint young men and women with a working knowledge of the operations and procedures of the department and other law enforcement agencies.

The Youth Cadet program is open to young adults ages 14 and graduated from the eighth grade, through 20, or 15 through 20 years of age.

Voluntary Camera Registry Program Voluntary Surveillance Camera Registration Program

In an effort to locate video evidence of crimes that occur in residential areas, we have implemented this voluntary program. Surveillance cameras are a great crime deterrent, but they do not guarantee that crime will not occur at or near the location of cameras. Just look at all the times people are caught on camera stealing from stores. After a crime has already occurred, the greatest benefit of having saved surveillance video is its potential in helping to identify suspects.

LETR Law Enforcement Torch Run for Special Olympics - LETR

The Law Enforcement Torch Run for Special Olympics is the movement’s largest grass-roots fundraiser and public awareness vehicle. At its most basic level, the Torch Run is an actual running event in which officers and athletes run the “Flame of Hope” to the Opening Ceremonies of local Special Olympics competitions, state, provincial Games, and National, Summer and Winter Games.
