The Citizen's on Patrol Program or C.O.P.P. is designed to assist the neighborhoods with community involved patrols.

Residents within a neighborhood association are trained by the police department to patrol their neighborhoods in a safe and observatory manner.

They report any suspicious behavior to the police. Persons involved in this program should take great pride in the fact that they are taking an active part in the reduction of crime within their community.

Interested neighborhood association members must fill out the application form and submit to a background check.

Requirements:

  • Must be a U.S. citizen.
  • Be a member of a recognized Neighborhood Association.
  • No felony convictions for the past 20 years. If there are felony convictions you must submit request in writing to be considered and have been an outstanding resident in the Neighborhood Association for the past 5 years.
  • No felony convictions in any of the following categories: burglary, drugs, sex crimes, or aggravated assault charges.
  • Possess a valid driver's license and proof of insurance for the vehicle to be used.
