Midwest City YMCA Update

Initial rendering of YMCA to be constructed in Midwest City

Midwest City YMCA Update

We are excited to share an update on the new YMCA coming to Midwest City—a project that has generated a lot of interest from our residents.

This state-of-the-art facility, to be located at the corner of National Avenue and Park Lawn Drive and just east of SSM Health, will be a focal point of the future Plaza 62 District, formerly referred to as the Midwest City Regional Hospital District.

The City of Midwest City has been meeting bi-weekly with the YMCA of Greater Oklahoma City, Mid-Del Schools, Willowbrook Construction, Gro Architecture, and SSM Health. These sessions have focused on designing a functional layout that meets the needs of all stakeholders. One exciting feature creates a dedicated space for SSM Health’s physical therapy services.

While renderings of the facility may evolve slightly as the project moves forward, this initial planning phase is nearly complete.

At this time, a construction timeline has not been finalized. However, Gro Architecture and Willowbrook Construction are already under contract for pre-construction services. The first visible signs of progress will likely be infrastructure upgrades in the area—so keep an eye out!

We understand the community’s excitement, and we share it. Projects of this scale take time and coordination, but rest assured, progress is happening. We will continue to provide updates as new information becomes available.
