Halloween – Trick or Treat in Midwest City
The City of Midwest City will recognize Halloween on Friday, October 31!
In addition to being a fun and festive evening, we also want it to be a safe evening for everyone. Please keep the following in mind as we enjoy Trick-or-Treat 2025:
For Kids and Families
- Younger children should always have adult supervision.
- Be visible! Wear bright or reflective costumes and carry glow sticks or flashlights.
- Walk on the sidewalk instead of in the roadway when a sidewalk is available.
- Cross streets at corners or crosswalks. Do not let children dart out into the roadway.
- Ensure costumes fit properly to avoid tripping over them. Consider non-toxic makeup instead of masks for better vision.
- Check the candy! While most people have good intentions, there may be a bad apple out there who could try to poison the candy. Avoid homemade treats from strangers, and adults should carefully inspect all collected candy before consumption.
For Homeowners Giving Out Treats
- Keep your home well-lit to show your participation with Trick-or-Treat activities.
- Keep the porch and walkway well-lit and free of obstacles such as garden hoses or other tripping hazards.
- Keep pets secured to avoid accidental scares or bites.
For Drivers
- Slow down in residential areas during Halloween night. Trick-or-Treaters often begin their adventures as early as 5 p.m.
- Stay alert and be on the look-out for children who may dart into the roadway unexpectedly.
- Avoid distractions and keep your eyes on the road.
Together, we can ensure Halloween 2025 is a safe and wonderful time for all!
