  • Pay attention to Flood Watches, Flood Warnings, Flash Flood Watches and Flash Flood Warnings.
  • STAY OUT OF FLOOD WATERS
    • Depth is difficult to determine, and the road beneath may be washed away completely
    • You place yourself and first responders at risk
    • It only takes a few inches of water to sweep a person off of their feet, and just 12 inches of water to carry away most vehicles
  • Listen to media outlets for timely updates and flood preparedness information.
  • Elevate and waterproof critical utilities and valuables during flood preparation to decrease damages.
  • Have an evacuation plan, including routes and places to stay.
  • Evacuate before flooding starts.
  • Return to your home only when authorities say it’s safe.
