Trick or Treat Guidance for Parents and Treat-Givers

The City of Midwest City will continue its practice of encouraging trick-or-treating on Halloween Day, which is Tuesday, October 31, 2023. Residents who wish to participate can show their support by turning on their porch lights from 6 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. It is recommended that all trick-or-treat activities end by 9 p.m.
The following best practices are recommended for trick-or-treaters:
- Stay home if you are sick
- Use hand sanitizer frequently while trick-or-treating
The following safety tips are recommended for homeowners:
- Do not hand out candy if you are sick
- Wash your hands frequently or use sanitizer frequently while handing out candy
- Refrain from having children select their own treats from a bowl or common container
Recommendations for parents include:
- Keep your family at home if someone is sick
- Talk to your children about safety
- Wash hands as soon as you return home
- Allow children to eat only factory-wrapped treats
- Avoid homemade treats
