Board of Adjustment / Board of Appeals

The Board of Adjustment hears and decides appeals and special exceptions to the zoning ordinance. The Board authorizes in specific cases a variance from terms, standards and criteria that pertain to allowed use category within a zoning district as authorized by the zoning ordinance. A pre-application meeting with Planning staff is required at least ten days prior to submitting an application for a hearing before the Board of Adjustment.

Members are appointed by the Mayor, approved by the Council, and serve three year terms.
