Midwest City's Water Treatment Plant is operated by a group of professional, State certified personnel. The plant has received the "Plant of the Year" award from the Oklahoma Water and Pollution Control Association for its superior performance on multiple occasions. Our goal is to provide you with a safe and dependable supply of drinking water. We want you to understand the efforts we make to continually improve the water treatment process and protect our water resources. We are committed to insuring the quality of your water.
The Midwest City Water Treatment Plant was originally constructed in 1966. It was subsequently expanded in 1985 to its present 13 million gallons per day capacity. Our raw water source is Lake Thunderbird, which is governed by the Central Oklahoma Master Conservancy District.
Midwest City also maintains a groundwater backup system of deep wells, which draw their water from the Garber-Wellington aquifer, one of the best quality aquifers in the State of Oklahoma. |
