Residential Services
The Midwest City Sanitation Department provides residential service with a semi-automatic collection system. This provides an impeccable service with low-cost overhead labor and a personal touch to the residents. All residential sanitation customers receive once-a-week pickup.

The City of Midwest City provides one cart for each residence. The resident is responsible for the safekeeping of the cart until such time as an inspection is made by the Sanitation Department and service is terminated. Should any person change his or her residence they shall promptly notify Customer Service. If the cart is lost, or stolen, promptly notify the Midwest City Police Department. If a cart is damaged beyond normal wear and tear, the cost of replacement shall be charged to the resident at current replacement cost. All carts are to remain at the residence to which they are assigned. It shall be unlawful and an offense for a person to be found in possession of a cart without the permission of the assignee.

All carts to be emptied shall be placed at the curb or curb line. Carts are not to be obstructed from the sanitation collector's view (ex: behind parked cars, hedges and etc.). The cart shall be placed for collection no earlier than 7:00 p.m. the day before collection and no later than 7:00 a.m. the day of collection. The cart shall be returned to its storage place by 7:00 p.m. the day of collection.

Residents are allowed to place other types of wastes at the curb in addition to their cart. Those authorized items are: (1) Plastic bags, (limit of five). Bags shall be securely tied or fastened to prevent spillage and shall weigh no more than 30 pounds each. (2) Wooden or cardboard boxes intended to be disposed of as trash, ten cubic feet maximum size weighing when full not more than thirty pounds, and which is securely covered, closed or tied in a manner sufficient to prevent spillage. Large boxes, such as those used for packaged mattresses, appliances, and other large objects, will not be picked-up unless broken down and folded.

Brush trimmings, no greater than three (3) inches in diameter, should be cut into four (4) feet lengths, and tied in bundles of no more than seventy-five (75) pounds. This will allow the brush to be placed at the curb so that they may be collected during normal sanitation pick-ups.

ANY ITEM PLACED CURBSIDE BESIDE THE CART MUST BE DISPOSABLE.
