Midwest City Park Policies
1. Park Hours: Joe B. Barnes Regional Park, trail, and tennis courts hours are 5:00 am – 11:00 pm year round. Kiwanis and Lions Park hours are 7:00 am – 10:00 pm year round. All other parks are dusk to dawn.
2. Pavilion hours: Pavilion hours are 7:00 am – 10:00 pm year round.
3. The following pavilions can be reserved at a cost of $15.00 per hour: Joe B. Barnes Regional Park: Rotary & Joe B. Barnes Kiwanis Park: Kiwanis South Lions Park: Lions Pavilion
4. The following pavilions can be reserved at a cost of $7.50 per hour: Joe B. Barnes Regional Park: Garden Council Kiwanis Park: Kiwanis North
5. The following pavilions are available at no charge on a first come first served basis: Tom Poore, ESA and Mid America, Optimist, Post Oaks, Morris McGee
Important Polices and Procedures:
6. Inflatable moon bounce equipment is allowed in the parks, however you must write a letter addressed to Midwest City Parks and Recreation stating this equipment will be in the parks. You must have written approval of the Midwest City Parks and Recreation Division fifteen days (15) prior to the event. Letters must be addressed to Midwest City Parks and Recreation stating this equipment will be in the parks. Information should include dates, time and any additional information needed to inform the department about your event. The company you are renting from should have liability insurance.
7. An accurate count of the members attending the function is critical. Large groups are encouraged, but other City departments must be notified by the Parks and Recreation Department when an extraordinary number of people are arriving at the facility at the same time (i.e. police department on traffic control).
8. Parking is not allowed on the grass at the parks. All vehicles must be parked in the provided concrete parking lots. Vehicles parked on the grass will be subject to ticketing and/or towing by the Midwest City Police Department. Owners of the vehicles will be held responsible for any fines in connection with their vehicle being ticketed and/or towed. 9. Stage area is not for public use. This stage is used for City sponsored events only.
10. Any group with more than 150 people must acquire additional portable toilets. The City recommends two (2) additional toilets for each fifty (50) people over 150.
11. Softball fields are not available for use by large groups unless approved by the Parks and Recreation Supervisor prior to event.
12. 3.2 beer is allowed in the parks, but cannot be sold. NO GLASS CONTAINERS ARE ALLOWED IN THE PARKS.
13. Cancellations: Refunds will be made if the group cancels 30 days in advance or if the following weather conditions exist on the day of the scheduled rental (freezing precipitation and/or a tornado warnings (not tornado watch) for Midwest City), one alternate date may be selected or a refund given upon request. Refunds will be received within ten (10) to fourteen (14) days upon request.
14. All monies are put into a fund to improve and maintain the park facilities.
15. Tennis and volleyball courts can be reserved at no charge and reserved separately from pavilions.
16. Garage sales are permitted at all pavilions for non-profit organizations. Garage sale permits are required. Kiwanis South pavilion is not available for garage sales April 1st through September 30th.
17. If a problem arises over removing groups who do not have a reservation and refuse to vacate the pavilion at the time of your reservation you may contact the Midwest City Police Department at 739-1388.
18. If a problem arises over sanitary conditions of the pavilion, keep in mind the pavilion is open to the public and each reservation group is responsible to clean up after themselves using the trash receptacles.
If there is an electrical problem or the trash receptacles are full, please call 539-0092 and leave a telephone number where you can be reached. If the reservation is after 5pm on Sunday, please call dispatch at 739-1388 and they will notify a staff person.
