Welcome

Welcome to Midwest City and the Historical Soldier Creek Nature Trail & Memory Lane.

This Trail and Memory Lane was a jungle, but those who saw the need of an off-street walkway in Midwest City accepted the challenge beginning October, 1993. It was built with the cooperation of many who gave countless hours of hard work clearing this five mile trail. Today we have a trail where thousands enjoy clean air for exercise, and handicapped accessible areas.

The trail runs from NE 10th St. and Midwest Blvd. to SE 15th and Century Blvd. ¼ mile markers are located along the trail. The trail is maintained by the Midwest City Street Department. If you have any questions or concerns about trail maintenance please call (405) 739-1376.

There are wild animals, birds and reptile life along the trail making it interesting, educational and enjoyable.

"Mother Nature"

Hazel Craddock is lovingly referred to as Midwest City's own "Mother Nature". . Hazel, who's family homesteaded in this area, would walk along the creek to attend Soldier Creek Elementary School as a child.
She approached the Midwest City Council in 1993 to clear and establish a walking trail along Soldier Creek.
A garden area was dedicated at Reno to Hazel, a native of Midwest City, July 27,2001, on her 85th birthday.
