The Public Education Office of the fire department is primarily responsible for developing, implementing, and evaluating life safety programs. This office administers ten programs, as follows:

Cooking and home safety	Junior high and High school home economics
Remembering When	Fall and fire prevention for senior citizens
Save-a-Life	Free smoke alarm installation to qualifying citizens
CPR	Junior high and general public
Storm Shelter Registry	Storm shelter owners in city limits

In-service training is offered free of charge to local businesses
addressing evacuation protocol, fire extinguisher use and general fire
safety in the work place.
