NEIGHBORHOOD INITIATIVE

Citizens on Patrol

Citizens on patrol, hereafter referred to as "C.O.P.P." is a program based on the concept of utilizing organized citizen groups to supplement the police departments ability to patrol more areas within our community. By placing properly trained and equipped citizens in our neighborhoods to watch for crimes and/or suspicious activity and then to report it, we have increased the "Eyes and Ears" of our police department. Further, it frees up patrol officers and allows them to spend more of their patrol time in higher crime areas. Persons involved in this program should take great pride in the fact that they are taking an active part in the reduction of crime within their community.
