I-40 Redevelopment Project
Proposal
The City of Midwest City acting with and through the Midwest City Memorial Hospital Authority, a public trust, has partnered with Sooner Investment Company to redevelop this highly visible tract of land. The Downtown Redevelopment Project encompasses approximately 83 acres fronting on Interstate Highway 40 located east of Air Depot Boulevard at its intersection with SE 29th Street, directly north of Tinker Air Force Base.
T he proposed development will include a retail complex for the Midwest City region that consists of a "New Urbanism" look and feel, anchored by large-scale traditional retailers with restaurants, shops and smaller retail out parcels. The overriding objective of the redevelopment is to create a high intensity, predominantly retail development that will enhance the image of the community and provide an attractive town center element that will stand the test of time.
